Dave's having a rough time of late. First he shows his technical
incompetence with a lack of comprehension of linear and angular
motion. Then he reveals his lack of knowledge in the cost of housing,
education, taxes, and his socialist responsibility.
And now his knowledge of French bigotry has been obsoleted by
demographic changes. Still, through it all he maintains a pompous
Trotskylike arrogance
which reveals the real Dave. A shallow man of limited accomplishments
stubbornly clinging to an inflated opinion of himself. He is, in his
