Default Bluetooth vs sandard jack

I am curious as to which is more high-fidelity, Bluetooth or standard
audio jack. I do not care about wires. I believe that Bluetooth might
be lower fidelity due to laitency, but at the same time I heard that
it's as high of fidelity as HDMI Audio. I do not know if this is
true. I am also unsure if I would want to purchase Bluetooth
Headphones or traditional wired ones for this reason.

It is possible to use a wireless link to transmit audio as faithfully
as a wire, but to the best of my knowledge no such system is currently
available over Bluetooth. The standard Bluetooth audio system that
ensures compatibility between various headphones and transmitting devices
is generally not considered good enough for anything but casual listening.

The optional improved systems, notably AptX HD, still involve re-encoding
the signal in a lossy fashion and will not be as transparent as wired
systems.

Bluetooth is for convenience, not quality.

Latency has little to do with the issue, unless there is some problem
that involves having one ear's signal ehind the other.
