Default Phase Inversion

Got a bunch of amps and speakers in a Home Theatre Hifi Setup, usta be
real easy to keep everything in phase with a simple stereo. Now I have
5 power amps, and not sure which ones flip the phase 180 degrees from
in to out. Not to mention the center channel that sounds out of phase
with the front main left and right channels. Any suggestions to
straighten my mess out ?

Connect a portable speaker between the terminals of each speaker. The
volume from (+) to (+) is lower than the volume from (+) to (-).

The center channel is problematic because it's closer (in a rectangular
room), it uses different drivers, and it plays a critical part in sound
reproduction. It's important to get a digital control unit with
automatic speaker calibration and manual fine tuning. Getting the time
delay and EQ matched for each speaker makes the difference between a
beautiful sound system and a clumsy one.

If you don't have a digital control unit, some high-end DVD players have
manual calibration for the analog 5.1 outputs. You'll have to go around
the room with a tape measure and tinker with the controls for a while.
If your sound doesn't take the path you think it does, the time delay
adjustments will be off and you'll need a lot of walking around the room
and tinkering to get it right.
