Actually Richard's first response in this thread was one of the most
intelligent interjections. His mistake was his next observation, when he
lumped both abuser and abusee into the looney bin. It's sort of the
school-marm approach where both parties are equally punished as a result of any
disruption, inspite of the clear, voluminous evidence that 'bullying' is a
ubiquitous facet of pre-adult socialization. Usually the person being bullied
cannot stop the person doing the bullying, so the person being bullied attempts
to fight back in some manner, sometimes attempting to equalize the situation,
much like in situations of domestic violence where the weaker sex will use a
weapon to compensate for her opponent's superior strength. This makes it
difficult for a casual observer to identify the instigator.
And by the way, I consider your manipulation of the header to follow-up my
replies only to a group I'm not reading to be very obnoxious.
