6.1 and 7.1 are indeed becoming increasingly available on A/C
receivers.

5 is firmly established. Anybody think 16 might be better

I believe 10 (or 12?) channel setups to have their advocates.


The Wavefield Synthesis system demonstrated at the June AES Conference in Banff
used 88-channels to great advantage. This allowed a pretty realistic experience
while walking aroundin a small demonstration room about the size of a typical
shoebox listening room.
