Default Playback Windows XP Digi 002

wrote:

1. How do i setup the Digi 002 to playback generally when i surf the
web or hear the sounds you get when clicking on stuff on the
desktop? for example myspace etc. to hear anything i have to
actually download it and play it back through Windows Media Player.
The Digi 002 works when i use in with Pro tools LE but not for
general compute use.

Go to Control Panel and select "Sound and Audio Devices." Click on the
"Audio" tab and select the Digi on the first pull-down menu.

I typed almost exactly that less than a week ago in response to another
question about system sounds through Digi hardware. Google is your
friend for stuff like this.

2. When i playbabck through itunes, the tracks stutter loads and
sound terrible. Sounds like loads of drop outs.

Open Quicktime. From the Edit menu select Preferences and click on
Quicktime Preferences. Click the Audio tab and check the "Safe Mode"
checkbox. Depending on your system configuration, you *may* have to
manually select the sample rate and bit depth (which can be really
annoying).

The issue is double buffering. You wanna find a way to defeat the
buffering in either QuickTime or the Digi 002 wave driver.

I covered that in another post last week too.
