"RMS" is relevant as it refers to the way that current and voltage are
measured in order to get power. "Power" is relevant - it's current x
voltage. But RMS is an average value over time, so multiplying RMS power
by RMS voltage give you Average Power. "RMS power" is the misnomer. It
got that way because people who don't know what RMS is but know that
it's measured just started calling it that.
