Default Can I PLEASE get a straight answer on modifying a Cr02 Type II tape for

I don't know about CDR prices now. I got about 500 last year and haven't
finished them yet (got about 80 left). But DVDR prices aren't too bad,
although I have to admit, I haven't even kept up with what a +R or -R means.
I've just got a stack of Rs that I use for archiving and another stack of
DVD-RAM for temporary project storage. Most of my projects in the last year
have either gone to pressing or the client does their own CDR burning. Or,
I've been playing on other people's projects and the work goes out over the
internet. I'll bet I haven't burned 100 CDRs this year. In fact, I bought
this 52X Plexiwriter that Kurt mentioned and it's still sitting on top of
the stack of compressors. Open computer virtually ready to run up in my
wife's office which I was just going to use for burning, but that's an idea
that apparently hasn't happened yet, even with all the parts in place. My
wife just thinks I'm lazy, but hey, if you haven't come up with a use for it
yet, why bother?

But overall, on virtually every format front, things are much cheaper today,
but then we're talking about 20 years of development, even leading into CDR
burners and media. I remember being at Planning Research Corp in the early
80s when we were starting to work with actually pressing discs in-house as
memory systems. By the time I got to the US Army Material Command HQ we'd
already started getting a fairly large number of CD-ROM based systems while
the tech support guys were still having problems learning Windows 3.0.
We're in a pretty fast moving time in technology right now and I supposed
that you could say once a technology gets down to a pennies per basis that
it's probably a technology that's soon going by the wayside.

The only time I ever bought any, the rebate was more than the purchase
price. Aren't CDRs supposed to be getting about that cheap now? $0.20
is highway robbery!
