Default Hammond amps - request for info.

wrote:
Have recently acquired a pair of Hammond amps EACH having one 5U4, four
6V6 and two 6J5 tubes, four transformers placed in a straight line
(one large, two smaller and one medium in size and in that order)
parallel to the tubes and one large capacitor situated at one end of
the chassis . Both amps have no markings on them.
Incidentally, there is currently an ebay listing (Item number:
120051874534) similar amp which indicates being obtained from a 'DR20'.
Please post any information that will help identify and restore them.

From the Hammond website (
http://www.hammondmfg.com/) they have some
links to info about their old audio amps, including in some cases
catalogs and schematics. Also links to the Hammond museum. And if you
do find the schematics or reverse engineer the amps, they are very
interested in whatever you find out.

A small hint: at least one of the items you identify as a transformer
is probably a power supply choke. If it was used with field coil
speakers there were probably at least two power supply chokes.
