Chapter 18 of Bob Katz's book _Mastering Audio_ is devoted to this
topic, and references some personal correspondence with Jim
Johnston - the original horse's mouth - and Tom Stockham's
work for the Soundstream project.

Highly recommended, for this and many other reasons. Very accessable
for folks with a deep general knowledge seeking specifics. Also,
very well written. A class act all the way around.


Yes, absolutely! And what is interesting about this is that it talks
somewhat about HOW the technology affects the required minimum sampling rate.
