Both are good and useful but either could be less than satisfactory for
some things.

I've heard that Great
River would be a safer bet for getting the characteristics of the mics.

Perhaps the original MP2, which is apparenlly now available only on
special order. The MP2NV has a distinct color that seems to be pretty
popular, which is why it's the current big seller at Great River
Electronics.

I also have SM57 and beta 57, would those two sound good with LA-610?

Better than without a preamp at all.
