My demands were about the same as yours, so I'm folowing the thread
withinterest, even though you dropped the Pioneer as a possibility.

Pioneer 5500 and Premier 550 have virtually identical specs and
features. Premier comes with 2 years warranty.

I wonder what is the utility of having two seperates lines of products
when they are so similar priced and featured?
