90% of Wolfsburg, has a 5-year program for the team to
bring it from the 8th spot of last season (they are
currently in the 3rd round of the Intertoto) to
permanent Champions League qualifiers.
Moreover, Volkswagen will help River Plate reduce its
"official" debt of =8013 million (but it's likely to be
much more than that) by starting a partnership between
RP and Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg will also receive Gaston
Fernandez and one more player of their choosing from
the farm system.
I wonder what made D'Alessandro agree, though, because
Cavenaghi refused to move to Wolfsburg, saying that he
wants "to play in Spain or Italy in a club that has as
much international appeal as I have".
