I've recently purchased a CD changer from Audiogon. The player
arrived in good order but started to skip on most all of my CDs. A
few days later it would not power up. I immediately contacted the
seller whom promised to file a claim with FedEx as soon as he can.

That was a week ago and I have not heard anything from him. Meanwhile
I took the initiative and filed the claim with FedEx a few days back.
FedEx will pick up the player tomorrow to do an inspection and then
ship it back to the seller. I also have informed the seller of my
action and again, not a word from him.

My delimma is: should I let FedEx pick up the player and hope that the
seller will settle the claim or should I hold on to the player until I
hear from the seller. What do you all think I should do?

Thanks,
Hugh

Where there any dented corners on the box, or anything else that might
indicate that the player has been dropped by FedEx?

If not, you really don't have a case - Just bad luck.

The shipper insurance, at least in the case of UPS, covers only "box
penetration."
In other words, if the box is intact, and the contents have been pulverised
to powder, you have no claim.
