My SL-1700 has a muting circuit that eliminates touch-down thumps. If
the SL-1210 has something similar, maybe there is a problem there.
You can also look at the Technics website; service manuals are cheap.
Have you tried a local DJ shop; maybe they have someone really good
who repairs tables?
